In collaboration with the esteemed World Bank Group, I had the privilege of contributing to a compelling video that addressed a critical issue with global implications. This project, which features two versions in both Arabic and English, seamlessly blends illustrative visuals and dynamic motion graphics to spotlight a significant challenge in the Palestinian territories — the escalating waste generation due to rapid urbanization and population growth.
The bilingual nature of this project extends its impact across linguistic and cultural boundaries. By offering versions in both Arabic and English, the video underscores the universal importance of addressing waste management challenges. My contributions in crafting illustrations and motion graphics aimed to amplify the message of the video, emphasizing the critical need for a coordinated effort to tackle waste-related issues at their roots.
Collaborating on this bilingual project underscored the potent role of visual storytelling in driving awareness and action. The combination of thoughtful illustrations and dynamic motion graphics not only conveyed complex data but also resonated with audiences on an emotional level. The urgency of the situation and the potential for transformative change were vividly communicated through the visuals I crafted, transcending language barriers.
As I present this project in my portfolio, I reflect on the power of visuals to galvanize change, especially when tailored to resonate with diverse audiences. This project exemplifies the ability of design and motion graphics to unite voices for a common cause — a cleaner, more sustainable future for communities facing pressing challenges.
